Southern Headache Society Advanced Practice Provider Scholarship Award

This scholarship supports the professional growth of nurse practitioners (NPs), physician assistants (PAs), and students pursuing careers in headache medicine across the southern region.

This initiative aligns with the Southern Headache Society’s mission to advance education, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and expand access to high-quality headache care. By supporting early-career APPs, this program aims to cultivate the next generation of clinicians specializing in headache medicine.

The scholarship will provide financial support to attend the Southern Headache Society Annual Meeting, scheduled for September 25–27 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Candidate Criteria

Licensed Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants:
• Currently practicing in the region of Southern Headache Society (AL, AK, FL, GA, KS, KY, LA, MD, MS, MO, NC, OK, SC, TN, TX, VA, WV, DC or PR)
Students:
• Enrolled in an accredited NP or PA program.
• Demonstrated interest in headache medicine.

Application and Supporting Materials

Applicants must complete this online application form and provide the following supporting materials. Be sure to include your full name in the name of your support materials:

Completed application form.
Curriculum vitae (CV) or resume.
Personal statement (maximum 500 words) addressing:
• Interest in headache medicine
• Career goals
• Anticipated impact of attending the meeting
• Prior or future interest to headache medicine in the southern region.

Applications and supporting materials must be received by July 12th. Winners will be announced after careful review by the APP Task Force.
